Vince Gill is Now, Officially, an Icon

Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Keith Urban, and Nicole Kidman BMI Awards

In Nashville last night (Nov. 4),  Vince Gill became (more of an) Icon when he received the prestigious BMI Icon Award.

The ceremony included not only emotion-filled speeches but also one-of-a-kind performances by Keith Urban, Ashley Monroe and the Doobie Brothers’ Michael McDonald.

Urban performed Gill’s 1992 No. 1 single “I Still Believe In You” and 1991’s upbeat “Liza Jane.” McDonald performed  “When I Call Your Name,” and Monroe sang Gill’s  ballad of unrequited love, “Whenever You Come Around.”

Listen Below to Ashley Monroe and Keith Urban.

In an Instagram post after the event, Monroe called the performance “one of the highlights of my life,” as she not only got to sing the song to Gill, she also did so accompanied by Urban.
