This year, Beyoncé producer Jordy Asher, aka Boots, emerged as one of pop’s most dynamic new voices thanks to a string of impressive early releases. In May, he unveiled his debut mixtape, WinterSpringSummerFall, which he’s since followed with two equally excellent singles, “Mercy” and “I Run Roulette”. During a recent session for Studio 360’s “Sideshow” podcast, Asher debuted even more material.

Highlighting Asher’s set were covers of St. Vincent “Cheerleader” and “Prince Johnny”, which he merged into a charming and evocative ballad with little more than his voice and a piano. He stayed behind the ivories to debut an whimsical track called “Only”. Listen to the performances below.
