It’s the R&B singer’s first new album in 14 years

After 14 years and very few public appearences, R&B juggernaut D’Angelo has finally unveiled Black Messiah, the long-awaited follow-up to 2000’s Voodoo. Covering 12 tracks and featuring guest spots from the Roots’ Questlove, Q-Tip, and Kendra Foster (of Parliament Funkadelic), Messiah is officially available on iTunes and Spotify (stream below). Describing his album title on a pamphlet handed out during a Sunday New York City listening session, D’Angelo said, “For me, the title is about all of us. It’s about the world. It’s about an idea we can all aspire to. We should all aspire to be a Black Messiah.” Check it out below.
