Bob Weir and John Mayer perform together on the Late Late Show

Bob Weir John MayerOn Thursday night, John Mayer welcomed Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir to the show.

Weir discussed the band’s  50th anniversary reunion at Solider Field this summer. Most notably, he explained that they’ll likely go by the Dead, and not Grateful Dead. “I think the Grateful Dead, you can’t when half of those guys are pushing up daisies, you can’t call it that.”

The real highlight, however, came when Weir took the stage with Mayer to perform a pair of Grateful Dead classics: “Truckin’” and “Althea”. Watch the former performance below.
