Casey Abrams re-imagined the song on YouTube channel Postmodern Jukebox, adding a ragtime feel.
It was 10 years ago that modern rock band Fountains of Wayne scored a hit single with “Stacy’s Mom.” Today, the song lives on thanks to American Idol alum Casey Abrams, who gives the song a jazzy twist.
American Idol season 10 standout Pia Toscano has teamed up with singer-songwriter Jared Lee to form pop duo 7EAST.
The black and white video is the perfect showcase for the artists’ pure talent. .
Toscano and Lee emotionally detail the ache of a crumbling relationship on the chorus, belting out:
“Words are only words, they can’t stop the bleeding anymore,” they sing on the heart-wrenching refrain. “We just crash and burn every time that we try / It just lies / I don’t believe it.”
