Jennifer Nettles Will Make Her Broadway Debut in ‘Chicago’

Jennifer Nettles is headed to Broadway. At least for a little while.

The Sugarland singer announced today (Dec. 9) that she’s set to make her Broadway debut in the musical Chicago playing the blonde murderess, Roxy Hart.

She’ll appear in the show for a limited eight week engagement, kicking off her run on February 2.

“I love the story. It’s lighthearted,” she told Today. “Lighthearted about murder.”

Nettles isn’t scared to hit the Great White Way, but excited.

“This one makes me on fire, thrilled,” she said, explaining that “no one phones it in on Broadway.”
