Carly Rae Jepsen Makes ‘SNL’ Debut with ‘I Really Like You’ & ‘All That’

Saturday Night Live really likes Carly Rae Jepsen. Last night, she made her debut on the show.

Jepsen kicked things off with her latest single “I Really Like You,” sans Tom Hanks unfortunately.

Later, Jepsen debuted a new song called “All That” with help from producer Ariel Rechstaid on bass and Dev Hynes on guitar.

The new track, which she called “My heart song of the album” on Twitter, has a bit of a ’80s feel. “Just let me in your arms,” she sings sweetly. “Show me if you want me, if I’m all that.”

SNL Books Amazing Lineup for 40th Anniversary Special

This coming Sunday night, Saturday Night Live will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special airing.

The full guest list for the episode has been revealed. Among the music folks are Kanye West, Jack White, Sir Paul McCartney,Arcade Fire, Fiona Apple, Elvis Costello, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, and Paul Simon.

Nobody Does it Like Prince– Watch Prince Make SNL History

Last night (November 1), Prince appeared as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

Prince made history by performing an uninterrupted 8 minute medley of tracks.

The episode was hosted by one-time Saturday Night Live cast member Chris Rock and marked Prince’s first appearance on the show since 2006.

1922 : The British Broadcasting Corporation, or BBC, the first national broadcasting corporation, is founded on this day in London.

1963 : Chuck Berry is released from prison after serving 20 months for a Mann Act violation (transporting a minor across state lines for immoral purposes).

1974 : Al Green’s “Grits Incident”: When a stewardess friend of Green’s shows up to meet the singer, he ends up at his Memphis home with her and his companion, Mary Woodson. When Green takes a bath, Woodson pours a pot of boiling grits in the tub, burning him badly before going in the next room and killing herself with his gun. Green takes these disturbing events as a sign from God and focuses his career on Gospel music and preaching.

1984 : Jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding is born in Portland, Oregon. She won the 2011 Grammy Award for Best New Artist, becoming the first Jazz artist to do so… while beating out nominee Justin Bieber in the process.

2008 : Adele is the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, performing “Cold Shoulder” and “Chasing Pavements.” Sarah Palin is on the show, which leads to a huge audience and lots of exposure for Adele, which gives her a huge boost in America.
